The Breas PowerShell with Extended Life Battery is a self-contained power accessory for the Breas Z1 and Z2 CPAP machines, letting you run your machine without being plugged into an outlet. The battery, PowerShell casing, and your Z1 or Z2 machine slide and click together into a single integrated unit.
This is worth considering if you travel, camp, or otherwise need your Z1 or Z2 to run somewhere without reliable outlet access, or if you want a backup power option in case of a storm-related outage at home. It's priced as a premium accessory, so it's most worthwhile if off-grid or backup power is a real, recurring need rather than an occasional one. This listing does not include the CPAP machine itself, which is sold separately.
The PowerShell is built with a soft, padded neoprene skin over a solid internal skeleton, and your battery module and Z1 or Z2 machine slide and click into place to form one sturdy, integrated unit rather than a loose battery pack connected by a cable. The included lanyard lets you hang the whole setup in a tent, from your headboard, or wherever is most convenient.
This package includes the Z1 & Z2 Extended Life Battery, which offers roughly twice the power of the original Z1 battery. On average, a single battery module provides 1–2 nights of runtime between charges — lower pressure settings extend runtime, while higher pressure settings shorten it. The PowerShell is also compatible with original Z1 batteries if you already own one.
Small enough to fit in your hand, the PowerShell is designed for full nights away from home — camping, flying, or otherwise off the grid. It can also serve as backup power at home, automatically taking over if you lose power during a storm or outage.
This package includes the PowerShell casing and the Extended Life Battery; it does not include the Z1 or Z2 CPAP machine itself, which is sold separately. Also worth knowing: the PowerShell casing is required both to charge the battery and to run your machine on battery power — you can't use the battery and machine together without the shell, and the battery will lose charge if left inside the shell when not actively charging or in use. If runtime, proprietary charging requirements, or noise level are dealbreakers for your specific use case, it's worth weighing this against your actual travel or backup power needs before purchasing, given the investment involved.

Need an extra or replacement battery? See the Breas Z2 Extended Life Overnight Battery. Every Z1 and Z2 setup also needs the Breas Z1 and Z2 Power Supply for standard AC charging. Round out your setup with the Breas Z1/Z2 Polyester Filter and the Breas Heat Moisture Exchange for Z2 for waterless humidification while traveling. See more from the brand on the Breas brand page.
No. This listing is for the PowerShell casing and Extended Life Battery only. The Z1 or Z2 machine is sold separately.
No. The PowerShell casing is required both to charge the battery and to run your machine on battery power — the battery and machine can't be used together without it.
On average, 1–2 nights per charge, depending on your pressure settings. Lower pressures extend runtime; higher pressures shorten it.
8 hours for a full recharge.
Yes. The PowerShell is compatible with original Z1 batteries in addition to the included Extended Life Battery.
Noise level is primarily a function of the Z1/Z2 machine itself rather than the PowerShell casing. If quiet operation is a priority, we'd recommend checking current customer reviews and your own machine's noise specifications before relying on this as a source of noise reduction.
Yes. The PowerShell can serve as backup power at home, automatically taking over your CPAP's power supply if you lose electricity during a storm or outage.
Negatives: The shell must be used to charge and to operate the cpap. Can’t use the battery and cpap together without the shell. Can’t leave the battery in the shell without losing charge.
VERY expensive.
Much more noisy than my resmed 10. I should have looked for battery power for it.
Pros: can power the cpap for at least 2 nights, maybe 3.
