  • Warm water (86°F or 30°C)
  • Mild soap (no heavy scents)
  • White vinegar
  • A clean washcloth

How to Clean ResMed CPAP Machine Parts

  1. Unplug the CPAP machine
  2. Disconnect the mask from the device
  3. Disassemble the mask (headgear, cushion, and frame)
  4. Wipe the parts with a warm washcloth

Step-by-step weekly cleaning instructions.

  1. Unplug the CPAP machine
  2. Disconnect the mask from the device

  4. Hand-clean all three parts with mild soap in a sink
  5. Rinse the parts with warm water (make sure all soap is removed)

  1. Unplug the CPAP machine
  2. Disconnect the air tube from the device and mask
  3. Hand-clean the tubing with mild soap in a sink
  4. Rinse with warm water (make sure all soap is removed)
  5. Place on a clean towel to dry (do not place in direct sunlight)

Cleaning Your CPAP Humidifier Chamber

Step-by-step daily cleaning instructions.

  1. Unplug the CPAP machine
  2. Disconnect the chamber from the device and mask
  3. Rinse the chamber with mild soap in a sink
  4. Rinse with warm water (make sure all soap is removed)
  5. Place on a clean towel to dry (do not place in direct sunlight)
  6. Make sure the chamber has no discoloration and is clear

Cleaning Your CPAP Machine

  2. Wipe the outside parts of the machine with a damp cloth
  3. Dry it with a clean towel
  4. When it's 100% dry plugging it back in

CPAP Equipment Replacement Timeframes

Always check the manufacturer's information for their recommended replacement period.

  • Air Tubing – Replace every 3 months
  • Disposable Filters – Replace twice a month
  • Full Face Cushions – Replace once a month
  • Headgear and Chin Strap – Replace every 6 months (or as it becomes too loose)
  • Humidifier Chamber – Replace every 6 months
  • Nasal Mask Cushions and Pillows – Replace every 2 weeks
